Our People

Diane Hubbard leads our Immigration practice in Dunedin and is assisted by Kyla Mullen. Both are New Zealand registered lawyers.

Diane Hubbard

LLB(Hons) University of Otago 1996

Diane joined Ross Dowling in mid-2021.  Apart from being born in Hong Kong and spending 4 years in Wellington, Diane has lived her life in Dunedin, schooling there, marrying there, and raising her 3 children there.  She is proud to call herself a true “Dunedinite”. She has strong ties to Fairlie in South Canterbury being her husband’s hometown and in recent years, her “home away from home”.

Diane is an Immigration Law specialist with extensive experience, ranging from applying for temporary and resident visas on behalf of clients to advocating on their behalf to the Immigration and Protection Tribunal or Minister of Immigration.  She is passionate about her role as an immigration lawyer and strives to get the best result for her clients whether they wish to visit, study, work or settle permanently in New Zealand.  Diane welcomes new and returning immigration clients to Ross Dowling Immigration.

Kyla Mullen

LLB(Hons) University of Otago 2013

Kyla lives on a small lifestyle block in the Dunedin hills with her family and assorted farm pets. Bringing a background as an occupational therapist to her legal work, Kyla remains passionate about helping people.

Having balanced a busy life raising four children while studying law and working at the University of Otago, Kyla is familiar with prioritising needs and striving hard to achieve client goals.

Kyla has assisted many migrants and their families from varied backgrounds and nationalities to achieve successful immigration outcomes across the broad spectrum of immigration practice.  She looks forward to assisting Ross Dowling Immigration clients on their immigration journey.
